The rounded sinkhole geology of the city and its agriculture
The wing Alley Qehmez is a village located in the Jbeil district, on the eastern edge of Mount Jabal Moussa. At 50 Km from Beirut and an altitude of 700-1800 meters asl, Qehmez is known for its agricultural produce, particularly its tomatoes and apples.
Its sinkhole geology is due to the karst landscape surrounding it.
Qehmez, as part of the Jabal Moussa Biosphere Reserve, has been designated a global Important Bird Area for the conservation of the migratory bird populations that pass through here.
