Phoenician warmth
Making the traditional Lebanese headdress
“Lebeddeh” is a traditional Lebanese felt hat. This craftwork is inherited from our ancestors, the “Phoenicians”, as one of the oldest and most important local crafts.
The Lebbedeh workshop given by the one and only Lebbedeh handcrafter Youssef Akiki in Lara Abou Mrad’s guesthouse last 1.5 hours, by mixing cleaned wool material with natural olive soap and water and working it several times until it is shaped and then left to dry naturally in the sun.
