Every journey needs a special end for relaxation and reflection
A place where beauty, fun and respect for the environment coexist perfectly A few kilometers south of Aqaba, on the coast, is an important and valuable Marine Park founded in 1997, with the aim of preserving Jordan's rich aquatic environment. The park, which occupies part of the 27 km of coastline on the Red Sea, is managed by ASEZA the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, a financially and administratively autonomous institution responsible for the management, regulation and development of the Aqaba area.
One of the Park's main activities is to keep the marine biosphere intact for future generations. The institution aims to make citizens and tourists aware of the need to respect the rules in defence of the marine environment. To this end, the park monitors and partly manages 19 dive sites on the coast, organised in well-equipped centres to allow visitors to discover the area's aquatic wonders.
Jordan's coral reef is an important habitat and home to many aquatic species. More than 450 species of fish and over 127 types of coral formations have been identified. The shallow waters are also home to unique algae, creating an environment conducive to fish life.
The park is located just 15 km from the city centre and is approximately 7 km long. Entrance to the beach is free of charge and you can choose to either enjoy the camping facilities or go snorkeling, swimming, diving or take a trip in a glass-bottom boat to admire the seabed.
