Caves, grottos and embroidery
Nature and handcraft Sikka is one of the villages in the Dura area in the Hebron governorate, and it is located 14 Km to the southwest of the city of Hebron. It is bordered from the north by the village of Beit Awa, from the south by the village of Majd, and from the east by the village of Fqeqis.
The name of the village comes from the Arabic word “Sika,” which means “a road/way.” The name goes back to the fact that the village was the way that connects the West Bank with the Gaza Strip. This applies to all the villages of West Dura, all of which were on a commercial route that connects to Gaza.
As for the intangible heritage of Sikka, women are excellent at Palestinian folk embroidery.
