The famous local food celebration in a World Heritage Site
An agricultural festival centred on the local produce from the Battir area, especially eggplants
This festival is an important event for strengthening the farmers’ link with their land, to save it from settlers and confiscation. Battir is considered as a World Heritage site because of the natural terraces that the farmers are working hard to save.
In August, during the festival, visitors can enjoy the local traditional dancing (dabke) and purchase organic seasonal produce. In addition you can buy handmade products like embroidery, enjoy a meal in local restaurants that overlook the natural site of Battir and enjoy the natural springs there.
The festival is mainly held near the main spring of Battir (Al Ein Spring).
